OUGD502 Brief 2 - PPP Presentation

My module presentation, here lies the slides and notes for my presentation I have also gradually self evaluated my work as seen
.

Well if im honest I still dont know yet, I know what I like and I enjoy it but I dont know where this will take me. Right now im still into tradiotinal print but this year I realised I dont just like print I like other stuff like making websites/apps etc. I really want to keep exploring every corner, I want to be able to do everything so I can say for sure thats not what I want to do.

So last year this was my branding on the left, it was inspired by print and both my outgoing character... although at the time I liked this I feel I have progressed more, I am still the same loving print person I am but more settled and proffessional this is why at this point on the right I have chosen my new logo also still inspired by print it is simple and classy I'm still unsure on the logo right now but intend to progress with this further over easter.

using my logo I created some bright neon business cards, I chose these colours because of my personality and love for colour my stock is also based on my preferences, I am really proud of the outcome and the multiple variants although not letterpresses this is what I will be doing in Summer when the academic year is over.

So my website, this is really clear and open platform I chose this because I want to showcase my work, my first page loads onto my portfolio, the next too are too get in touch with me and find more about me although this is a work in progress I like the direction it is heading in.

this is just a small list of who and what has inspired my this year, im still heavily inspired by print and illustration, I feel like the people I have explored have in some way informed my style. Andy M was who I chose to contact for my creative report and it was really inspiring hearing his views and aspects.
My biggest inspiration is my surroundings.

Just a few examples of the work I liked as you can see still heavily impressed by print.

I feel like ive done and acheived quite aloth this year, I got a job as a mac operator at a commercial printers and now i am learning to run and colour match the likes of  6 colour lithography machine which are huge! All of this is really intreseting and helps me to understand more about how and what happens with work that I design. I also feel because of this i have become alot more confident in approaching strangers and being able to speak up etc. I still have to work on this but I feel like im really getting somewhere. Not only this but I am learning more and more I learnt more about website design and user experience this was really enlightening because previosly i was dedicated to print now im not i see myself as an open creative rather than a specific.

What I'm proud of this year? So first off I wanted to mention Daisy because I am proud of our connection and friendship she was really honest and helped a lot of us. Im also proud of my work for responsive although I'm still working on this the stuff I have submitted has really shown me how to be a professional both working to deadlines and enjoying what I do, I also loved the brief with Only I learnt new things and its something id like to pursue further. This year was also the first year I learnt how to letterpress which I instantly fell in love with. Overall though I think my biggest achievement but worst enemy is learning to believe in myself and its working out this year I got my first payed client and I was incredibly proud of this.

well in 2 years I’d like to hope I have a job in graphic design of some form, im hoping to be in a studio working for the likes of hallmark, waitrose, txmaxx so ideally commercial design, so I can then work on my own stuff in spare time. I’d eventually want to set out to start my own business be that on my own with others preferably with others... I want to be able to say I am happy and successful in a job I love.

Summer
Im currently enquiring about work experience at my current job, but I would also like to gain some more experience in a different setting from this session I have been researching studios etc and I would like to do some work experience with Elmwood in Leeds because of there diverse range of clients.

Im also going to keep working on my branding im not totally happy with it yet but im hoping with the spare and free time over summer I will have the chance to fully dedicate my time to it.
I’d also like to have a look into some studios in Iceland because I am visiting there in December this would be beneficial to see different work places.

Next year I want to really define and refine my style I want to know for sure what I like to do and what I cant do so I can tackle my weakest strengths.

I also want to get in touch with more professionals and get some contacts going.

Start a conversation.
